The BROOKFIELD® ChainBar is proving to be very popular throughout many farming regions globally as the best way to optimise soil health. The entire range of BROOKFIELD® Disc Chains can be fitted to this implement frame ensuring that all tillage needs are covered from dealing with leftover stubble after harvest to preparing the ground for seeding.
What makes the BROOKFIELD® ChainBar essential for my Tillage/Seeding Program?
Reuse leftover stubble
- ChainBar fitted with Disc Chain of your choice ensures that your leftover stubble is laid down and crushed to create a mulch-like protective layer over your soil reducing evaporation and boosting microbial activity.
- Early summer pass with ChainBar fitted with Disc Chain will encourage weeds to come up early so they can be removed with another pass before seeding.
ChainBar is the most versatile tool bar in Disc Chain technology with up to 6 chains ensuring that your specific soil-type is cared for as it should.

Chains & Tooling
PC18 - 18kg/m Prickle Chain
The prickle chain is the lightest weight chain of the Brookfield family. It is typically used in minimum & light til applications. It is also favoured chain for use with the small seeds applicator.
DLC36 - 36kg/m Dog Leg Chain
The dog leg chain is a unique zero til chain. It is excellent for stubble control especially in erosion sensitive soils but also used with small seeds applicator and as a levelling tool behind a seeder bar.
DC60 - 60kg/m Disc Chain
Formerly known as the rigid-flex chain, the DC60 is the most popular of the Brookfield disc chains. It has the greatest versatility featuring the highest performance across the widest range of applications.
DC64 - 64kg/m Disc Chain - Replaceable Disc
Replaceable Discs for High Usage & Contractors
Maximum Tilth Creation
Excellent Performance in Heavy Soils
Maximum Chain Flexibility
DC72 - 72kg/m Disc Chain - Replaceable Disc
The DC72 chain is the ‘hook and eye’, hi flex chain designed for maximum penetration also featuring a replaceable disc for high acreage users and contractors that are looking for a lower cost replacement chain.
DC90 - 90kg/m Disc Chain - Replaceable Disc
With the same flexible ‘Hook & Eye’, hi-flex system, the DC90 is the heaviest of the BROOKFIELD Chains & Tooling Range. With a sharpened 4mm disc for maximum penetration, the DC90 will achieve good penetration in the hardest Australian soils.
KC96 - 96kg/m Knuckle Chain
The knuckle chain is a zero til chain suitable for all soil types. It is excellent for maximum stubble mulching with minimal soil disturbance, perfect for improving germination rates.
I’ve been running the D185 with DC72 through Feathertop Rhodes Grass; it’s been ripping the plant out and laying it on top of the ground with the roots exposed. Then even if you get rain that night, it will not re-germinate. Any other machines I’ve used (tyne, offset, multidisc etc.) leave the roots in contact enough with the soil to re-germinate even up to a week later.

The D60-I ChainBar has been beneficial to my farming operation as its diversity allows it to be used for such a wide range of purposes. It has been fantastic for removing weeds such as melons and catheads and I am able to cover 17 acres an hour compared to my previous 10 acres an hour. The knock down and incorporation of stubble has been very beneficial and I have noticed a huge improvement in being able to retain soil moisture.
M BlaxlandTAMWORTH, NSW
Our D130D ChainBar has performed well in its first season assisting our operation in managing weeds and chick pea stubble. It has been a very effective tool in managing Rhodes grass in particular as it buries the seed deep enough to stop the plant re-germinating.
G SaalCLERMONT, QLD
The D90 ChainBar is very well made and has been good at working both the black soil (creek flats) as well as our lighter sandy country. We have used it for weed control and working the soil after ploughing and it will be used this season for sowing.
K CruikshankCOOLATAI, NSW
The D130D ChainBar has done a great job on weed control, sowing cereal crops, sowing pasture crops and we used it last year to top dress Canola. We have tried both a Kelly Chain and the Brookfield ChainBar and the ChainBar has been a better fit for us as it’s more adjustable to suit the soil type and it’s tough enough to do the job right the first time. It has done a brilliant job on removing summer weeds such as melons, fleabane and heliotrope. We have also hired the ChainBar out to multiple neighbours who have all been very happy with it and used it for demonstration days locally. The main purpose for purchasing the ChainBar was to smash up the Canola stubble to save the hassle of burning stubble with more and more fire bans and restrictions being in place.
D O’KaneTUNGAMAH, VIC
The D185 ChainBar I purchased is doing everything I was hoping it would do! It’s mulching stubble, levelling up the ground and removing fleabane, melons and heliotrope.

Very happy with my Brookfield Disc Chain
Does a magnificent job; better than I expected. It’s more aggressive than other disc chains, rips out weeds where others won’t – better job all round.
Definitely recommend the product.
Darren JBILOELA, QLD
BROOKFIELD is absolutely unbelievable. You couldn’t tell someone how good they are until you use them yourself on your own farm. It is now the most important tool on my farm – cannot believe how much we use it for all sorts of things we’d never dreamt it would do.

Our BROOKFIELD machine is doing a marvelous job. It’s really an unbelievable machine – has saved me thousands of dollars and turned hopeless land into something profitable.
M WagnerSPRINGSURE, QLD
Machine is going very well. Only using 2.3 L/Ha, so the cheapest form of seed bed preparation that exists, and getting heaps of work in the area.
Josh PDRILLHAM, QLD
Bought this machine, because I had used a neighbor’s, and realized that the BROOKFIELD does a way better job than other machines.
C FrankelTULLIBEGEAL, NSW
Machine is going excellent. One pass is doing an excellent job and leaving it perfect for sowing.
David BCOREEN, NSW
Absolutely love the machine!!! Best machine I ever bought – so simple yet so effective.
P NicholsPIANGIL, VIC
Onlookers are amazed with what I do with my BROOKFIELD. Then they watch me reap the differences at the end of the year, it’s absolutely amazing what it will do. Now it’s in our farming program, it’s the most commonly used machine and the best investment I ever made.
John LBARHAM, NSW
Machine’s going good; very happy with it; would definitely recommend the machine.
A GeorgeBREWARRINA, NSW
I’m very impressed with the machine. Its using less than 2.2 L/Ha for weed control, on rubbish over 18″ high. Unbelievable results, it cannot be compared.
Paul MCAPELLA, QLD
I’m very happy with them – have used other machines and the BROOKFIELD does a way better levelling job, is much simpler to use, and quick and easy to fold.
David DWALGETT, NSW
I’m very happy with the machine, it does an outstanding job.
M WoodsMOREE, NSW
I’m very happy. It’s very strong, does an excellent job, folds easy & well, travels beautifully – thank you
Mick MCAMBOOYA, QLD
I bought 3 machines a few years ago for weed control, and they have since saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars in chemical. Couldn’t possibly recommend any better investment for a farmer in this day wanting to make money.
Garry HLAKE CARGELLIGO, NSW
Magnificent machine – the best $XXX I’ve ever spent – awesome machine. It turned up, it was set up well and it worked – marvellous – I love it – thank you.
We were having increasing trouble with rye grass resistance – used the machine last summer on it; ripped out all the stuff growing, buried the rest of the seeds and I got a full germination which we sprayed out before sowing. Now you look down the stubble rows – there’s not a blade of rye grass in those paddocks, excellent results first year.
I’ve been able to significantly improve my operation since 2006 when I invested in my first BROOKFIELD machine – I now run three. They have proven their performance by vastly reducing our spraying costs, improved soil composition through stubble mulching and rid us of wheel track problems – the list is endless. Part of the success of these machines is due to BROOKFIELD’s close communication with me – the farmer, they are also willing to consider my suggestions, and they are backed up with excellent service.
R AitkenNARRABRI, NSW
I’m very happy with my BROOKFIELD – have used alternative machines and the BROOKFIELD does a way better levelling job, is much simpler to use, and quick & easy to fold.
