Winter Crop Planting… but where is the rain?

Winter Crop Planting… but where is the rain?

APRIL 26, 2018

It’s the time of year where most mixed farming operations have already sown forage oats and the winter crop planting window is in full view. This year however, the continuous dry conditions across Eastern Australia has delayed a lot of that sowing and most of the state remains in drought or in drought watch. The Land reported last week that “the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) released its most recent forecasts for the coming months, with climate outlooks predicting most cropping regions will have a 50 per cent chance of above median rain from May to July”.

While preparing for sowing and waiting for the rain to arrive, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on your farming operations goals and aspirations, and consider how you will go about achieving those over the coming years. BROOKFIELD is summarised in a quote by George Washington Carver “There is no shortcut to achievement. Life requires thorough preparation” Our machines have been tried, tested and proven and our goal is to help you achieve your farming goals through our systems and superior Implements.
