Popular globally, the BROOKFIELD® D130 ChainBar fitted with the KC96 Knuckle Chain has proven the ultimate mulching tool in a series of demos held by CTS Ag in WA last season.
“In WA, they described the combination as a ‘canola stubble mulching machine’,” Craig outlined. “The demos put the ChainBar and Knuckle Chain to work in a variety of conditions including straight in behind the header. The unit performed unbelievably well in far from ideal circumstances as the crop was direct headed and had plenty of green stalks.
“The later demo days saw the ChainBar literally cleaning up and proving why it’s so effective as a sustainable alternative. The mulch-like layer created the ideal conditions to improve soil health reduce evaporation, boost microbial activity, enhance moisture retention and protect the soil from erosion.
“Several machines were purchased following the demo days and were put straight to work for the 2024 planting season. The primary focus of the demonstrations was to handle canola stubble for trash flow management at seeding, but everyone could see the level of versatility provided by the multitude of disc and chain options that are available.
“The WA growers were particularly impressed with the strength and overall build of the machine as well as the aggressive chain angle which provides significant advantages over other products on the market.”
